Description and parameters

RAYVE Monsoon Cover Winter is the winter version of the Monsoon Cover wellies. Same cut and sole, plus a fleece collar with drawstring and fleece lining throughout the entire height of the boot. The collar cinches around the calf, so snow won't get inside when playing in snowdrifts.

The lightweight and flexible construction supports your child's natural foot movement, whilst the anatomical shape keeps the toes spread. The burgundy leans towards raspberry and makes your child visible on grey November pavements. Perfect for nursery, playground and forest, for winter puddles and snow alike.

Fit

  • suits wide to medium feet
  • anatomically shaped toe box
  • suitable for dominant big toe
  • suits medium heel
  • suitable for low to medium instep

Size Chart

How to Choose the Right Size

Measure your child's foot and add 9 to 12 mm growing room. For winter boots, we recommend going towards the upper limit, as they'll be worn with thicker socks and you won't be able to add your own wool insole.

The measurements below were taken by us on the actual boot, not converted from the manufacturer's chart.

Material

Durable materials for bad weather that keep feet dry and warm.

  • upper: PER-lite synthetic rubber, fleece collar with drawstring
  • lining: fleece throughout the entire height of the boot
  • sole: PER-lite rubber
  • insole: sewn in, non-removable

How to Care for Your Boots

  • always remove coarse dirt first with a brush
  • wipe the boots with a damp cloth
  • do not wash or dry directly next to heat sources; the sewn-in fleece insole dries slowly and overheated rubber warps
  • with proper care, your barefoot boots will last a long time

What You Might Want to Know About RAYVE Monsoon Cover Winter

  1. Are they warm enough for January?
For a typical Czech January, yes. For standing outside all day in freezing temperatures, no – these are fleece-lined wellies, not winter boots with a membrane. They're perfect for the nursery run, building a snowman, and afternoon puddles after a thaw.
  2. Do they really prevent snow and water from getting in from above?
Yes, the collar cinches with a drawstring around the calf and seals well. When it's warmer, you can fold it over the boot edge and the welly becomes shorter.
  3. Can the insole be removed and dried separately?
No. Unlike the non-insulated Monsoon Cover range, the insole here is sewn to the bottom. The boots dry as a whole, placed next to the heating, not on it.
  4. Are they suitable for wider feet too?
Yes. In size 28, the internal width is 80 mm, which accommodates a child's foot even with a terry sock and the toes can still spread.
  5. How to choose the right size for winter?
Measure the foot in the evening when it's at its largest, and add 9 to 12 mm. We don't recommend growing room over 15 mm; in a welly where the foot swims around, your child will rub their heel.
  6. Can they be machine washed?
No. The rubber would survive, but the sewn-in fleece insole would get waterlogged in the drum and then take several days to dry.
