Freet shoes are deliberately very minimalist. They combine the best materials and design so that your feet can move as naturally as possible while you do whatever you want – whether that is work, running down a muddy, grassy hill or doing yoga. Freet makes different shoes for different purposes, but there is always less work for the shoe and more natural work for the foot. The Freet brand was founded by a team of experts with experience in developing performance sports footwear and in biomechanics. Their mission is to let the foot work naturally in any situation, from sport to leisure activities and everyday wear. Free your feet from restrictive, stiff shoes and let them connect with the world around us. Your muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones and joints want to work naturally, not adapt to shoes. Feel your toes, soles, ankles and leg muscles working to the full again. Feel them coming back to life and becoming more flexible and stronger – just as nature intended. |
We hate waste and the unnecessary use of our shared resources. We design and develop everything in the UK and work very closely with our Chinese manufacturing partners. Our supply chain is short, but we are always working to improve it. We have long-term relationships with smaller family-run factories, where we can discuss and agree on what is acceptable in terms of quality, cost and working conditions. We pay a little more, but we try to make sure that everyone involved gets a little more than average when it comes to pay and conditions (e.g. time off). We do not want to work in an environment where it is all about profit.
Our shoes are vegan. No part of them contains material of animal origin, including the glue.
Many people need time to get used to the new barefoot way of moving. That is why our insoles have a layer that provides extra cushioning on impact and supports weaker arches and the heel area. This makes it easier to adapt to a barefoot walking style and minimises the risk of injury. The key is to make the transition gradually, perhaps on softer surfaces. Let your feet get used to this natural movement.
The shape of Freet shoes follows the natural shape of the feet. Toes have plenty of room to spread out and bend naturally.
Although Freet shoes protect the foot, the Freet Sensor Outsole brings the feet to life, letting them pick up as much feedback from the ground as possible and respond to changes in surface by changing their gait.
The soft, flexible upper has been designed so that the shoes adapt to the feet as much as possible. This relaxes and activates all the muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones.
