I chose RAYVE LAHTI for my youngest son for nursery and everyday wear. As we live in the mountains, we use winter boots from autumn right through to spring – so you really do need to take the choice seriously. LAHTI caught my eye thanks to the combination of smooth leather and suede, which looks stylish and is also really easy to look after. What’s more, they work beautifully even with smarter outfits, which definitely isn’t a given with children’s winter boots.
I played it safe – our family has had great experiences with the RAYVE brand. My son has worn their wellies, SNOWSTORM winter snow boots and trainers before, and the fit has always been spot on. For me, it’s also a brilliant brand for barefoot beginners.

RAYVE LAHTI are high-top children’s winter barefoot boots that stand out at first glance. The mix of suede and smooth leather looks really stylish – I like the other colour options too, and honestly I’m already considering ordering the same boots for my two older children as well.
A huge plus for me is the natural sheep’s wool lining. Wool has unique thermoregulating properties – it warms in winter and cools in summer – and thanks to that, children’s feet don’t get sweaty in the boots. The combination of sheep’s wool with the waterproof TEX membrane is also a practical choice for all sorts of weather.

The boots are moderately flexible – they adapt well to the terrain, but the sole is still firm enough and made from a non-slip material, so they can handle more demanding conditions too. They’re definitely boots for all-day adventures.
My son has wider feet and a higher instep – and yet the boots fit him perfectly. The Velcro lets you adjust them nicely to suit the foot, and the slightly reinforced heel counter ensures the foot stays securely in place. The Velcro fastening is also a big win for nursery age – my son can put them on by himself with no fuss.

Children are little explorers, and I give them plenty of freedom in that respect. So RAYVE LAHTI quickly went through a proper stress test – grass, woods, asphalt and damp autumn weather. And they passed with flying colours.
My son walks really well in them; his feet don’t get sweaty and there are no pressure points anywhere. At nursery he can put them on calmly by himself thanks to the Velcro – no time-consuming laces and no need for help from the teacher. In real life, that’s a huge bonus.
We haven’t tested them in snow yet – that will be for the coming winter. But based on our experience so far in damp autumn weather, I expect they’ll cope well.

What I love most about RAYVE LAHTI is the look, the materials and, above all, the fact that my son walks comfortably in them and genuinely likes them. They don’t restrict him in movement or in exploring every corner of the garden and woods – and as a mum, that’s the best verdict I could ask for.
I’d recommend them to parents looking for winter barefoot boots for an active child – boots that need to be comfortable for all-day wear, while still offering a stylish look and easy care. And if you live in mountain conditions like we do, they’re boots that can see you through the whole winter season from autumn to spring.
