TESTED BY TRAVELLERS"I had the chance to take the LEGUANO BEAT into fairly extreme conditions. They served me brilliantly on an all-day trek through the tropical jungle. It started innocently, but over time the terrain turned into a muddy path full of slippery roots, with plenty of climbing and descending. Luckily, the Leguanos did not let me down. In such extreme conditions any shoes will slip, but thanks to the thin sole I knew exactly what terrain I had underfoot and how to adjust my body weight so I would not slip. Walking on wet roots was much more comfortable and above all safer than in a classic shoe. I could grip a root with my toes to a certain extent and keep better stability. In the end, I came out best of the whole group and was not covered in mud from head to toe like some members of the expedition. On the trek we eventually had to wade through a river, and here another advantage of my barefoot shoes showed. Everyone's shoes were completely soaked, but the Leguanos dried the fastest."
